I love donkeys! One of my fondest childhood memories is of a sweet donkey named Lump Lump.
The rich kids camp had horses. We had donkeys. I thought we had the better end of that deal. I would pocket vegetables from supper, then sneak out early the next morning to give them to Lump Lump.

Really! I don't recall if Lump Lump ever ate those nasty overnighted veggies, but I remember pressing my cheek on her neck & felling like the world was okay.
