Even after all my time here, I still haven't tried every fruit. But today I added feijoa to my list! A subtly tart, earthy fruit, a bit grainy in the pulp but packed with nutrients, seen as helpful for cardiovascular, skin, and digestive health, and... the namesake of the term "guayabo", aka "hungover": possibly because after drinking you might reach for this, or more literally... probably from the idea of someone so drunk they passed out under these or similar trees. 😁

Yesss! Apparently Colombia and New Zealand are the world's major producers. :) Makes sense Australia would have access too!
I looked up, and it's apparently named after a Portuguese botanist, J. da Silva Feijó, from 1760-1824. That explains why it's most commonly called "guayabo del Brasil"! Thanks for the excuse to go deep-diving into etymology!
