Thought experiment:
With all the changing climactic norms in our overheating world, imagine that you get to rename (and if necessary renumber) all the seasons in your neck of the woods.
How many seasons does your region now have, and what rad/terrifying names do you have for any new ones?
(In Medellín it's kind of a cop-out: We have spring and "winter", a ridiculous lie of a word used to describe the autumnal months when there's more rain. Other rainy periods vary year by year.)
@MLClark I know your question is serious, but it also reminds me of all of the funny and oh-so-accurate memes out there about Canadian seasons. See below, lol. The big weather changes I've noticed here: less snow in winter and more severe thunderstorms and tornado watches in summer. Maybe 'Summer' below will soon become 'Storms' or, god help us, 'Smoke', but I hope against hope that isn't true...
I was debating posting that myself! 😅 I just didn't want to give anyone ideas. But thank you - it *so* belongs in this chat.
I think we'd both love a season called "Storms", but "Smoke"? 😬 No, no I do not like the sound of "Smoke" at all.
@MLClark You're right. I'm concerned that no one even talks about it now, like it never happened, like it wasn't a big deal. It was a big deal!!!
