As near as I can tell, this "Unanimous Consent" rule in the US Senate, that Tuberville is using to block all senior military promotions,is completely incomprehensible. For sure it's stupidly inefficient.
This is no longer just Tuberville's fault. All Senators are culpable for letting this charade continue and for not updating their stupidly outdated rules
It's time for everyone to pressure our Senators, regardless of Party. This is embarrassingly childish and destructive.

@sloudermilk This is a rule not a law. They make the rules they go by and they can change them. They won't because the entire GOP holds nothing but contempt for this country. They will with a smile and a handshake do everything in their power to weaken it. This goes much farther than Tubervillian.
we need more than one party, but the insane posse GOP isn't a 'real' party anymore.

I certainly agree. And it can't be very hard to write such rules, IF you are guided by fairness and common sense instead of a quest for power.
@Lucky188 @sloudermilk I read that some are actually concerned it will backfire or be weaponized. For instance, the Senate voted to change the hold procedures on Supreme Court appointments after Garland, and then we got The Great Rushjob Barrett. So I'm specifically looking for solutions that do not allow a tyranny in either direction. #politics
