@LowEndMuse I never watch these things, but I did tune in for a couple hours coverage on NPR last night. It was enjoyable and very inspiring.
If you're tired of the long national nightmare, try it to jerk a few tears and feel better.

@Zevon Just one example: If we're so exceptional, why do people go bankrupt due to medical debt in this country?
@LowEndMuse good example. it could be reframed as "the promise of America" which is exceptional and of course a challenge to live up to but worthy of aspiration and actions towards equality/equity and opportunity.

It's just that the idea of American exceptionalism often comes up at these events, and I'm not buying that narrative. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
