Well, I just returned from the sports medicine doctor. He did an ultrasound of my foot and detected nothing wrong. Inflammation is gone, just a *slight* hint of arthritis, but he said that would be found in anyone's ultrasound. We didn't schedule an MRI, because now there's no reason for it. If I flare up again, we can get an MRI in to see what's happening.
Could it be gout? My niece has flare ups with gout. You just have to get to a doctor during the actual flare up in order for them to do testing. In the meantime, I am glad the inflammation has resolved.
@Spagesgallo1 No, both doctors I've seen don't think it's gout. But I think it's time for a visit to my NP to make a more determinative diagnosis.
Yeah, that sounds like a good plan, especially if it's a reoccurring issue. Praying π that you get some answers soon!
@LiberalLibrarian It's amazing how often there's no real identifiable cause for physical problems.
As one of my doctors said, "we PRACTICE medicine." There's so much no one understands - especially on the non-dire stuff that doesn't get research funding, for obvious reasons.

@LiberalLibrarian
Well, if the pain's gone, swelling is reduced, and the ultrasound came back clean you're on the mend, it seems.
Good on ya'!
@LiberalLibrarian That is so weird. Iβm glad youβre better.
