"But I'm an essential service!"
Then you should be provided by the government, not trying to run on capitalism.
If we agree that everyone deserves access to water, then water needs to be run by the government because it's can't earn a profit and provide for the poorest people.

Okay...
@LianaBrooks The cruelty is the point, as we say here over and over.
@WordsmithFL I went to college in Florida. I was born in California.
I was raised in the states, but nothing about them makes me want to move back to them.
@LianaBrooks I was born in California and spent my first 52 years there before moving to Florida in 2009. I just came back from SoCal. I'm quite homesick.
But I have a rocket launching outside my window in about a half-hour, so there's that. ๐
@WordsmithFL I do love the space coast. It's gorgeous, when you don't have people trying to take basic human rights away or algae blooms.
@LianaBrooks The roadside Trumper vendors and the profane anti-Biden bumper stickers do take the polish off the place.
@WordsmithFL Hopefully some of that will change soon.
@WordsmithFL I'm not saying we should murder anyone. I'm just saying guillotines were invented for a reason and they are very effective at expressing displeasure with the current leadership.
@LianaBrooks We have a reproductive right initiative on the November ballot, as well as Rick Scott's Senate seat, so hopefully the combination will deliver the Democratic nominee to the Senate as well as the electoral college votes to Biden. But the state legislature is hopefully gerrymandered.
I heard last week that, even if the initiative passes, the legislature can still toss it. Swell.
@LianaBrooks Um, Florida Republicans passed a law this year banning local governments from passing ordinances requiring that laborers be given water while on the job.
