Twitter is completely inaccessible unless you want to pay for it, which makes it functionally useless for marketing and business. Brands had success marketing on Twitter because the audience got in for free.
@mcfate Yeah. I was secretly hoping Musk would lose interest, but he didn't. He destroyed one of the best tools of international communication and I'm trying hard not to ill-wish him for it.

@mcfate For me it was a wonderful place to connect with other people who shared my disability, grow a fan base for my writing, and chat with friends who worked in countries around the world. I had a well-curated feed and loved it.
Well, you had a good experience. For a lot of people, though, the difference between then and now is one of degree, not of kind.
@mcfate Twitter worked great for my ADHD. I could get fresh dopamine hits, follow all my interests, and was able to make a living promoting my books there. I did use Tweetdeck extensively and was careful with who I followed. But it worked and I had a good time.
