You haven't been woken from a dead sleep properly unless it's by a cold wet nose jammed in your bare armpit.
I would suggest that gagging sounds are equally as 😬 a way to be woken from a dead sleep.
Also, up until Nilla I had a tall bed and a short dog. Armpits were marked safe from wet noses.
Good point... LOUD GAGGING SOUNDS and SEVERE YACKING UP SOMETHING is common to both cats & dogs... we have this in common. 😎
