I'm a bit of a Grinch when it comes to Christmas decorations. I realized that every body wants them up, but nobody wants to help with clean up post Christmas and I get frustrated it all falls to me then.
Soni stopped putting any up. If they want them up, they can, but then they gotta take them down.
It's 60 days post Christmas and the tree and stockings are still up.
If I don't say anything, how much longer will they be up?
Should we start a poll?

I play the long game sometimes. There's still cookie cutters on the counter the wife said she'd put away. They just get shifted from spot to spot, but never put away. It's from Christmas break from kiddo in kindergarten. He's going to be 15 soon. Almost a decade. π
Should I rent a dumpster and do a hard purge, or just slowly have things 'go missing'?
Bring out all holiday decorations. Halloween and 4th of July etc etc and add them to the tree and stockings and anywhere everywhere. Embrace it all!!!
A DECADE? Holy crap that's something next level. I can't suggest a dumpster. That might lead to much bigger issues & trigger an even worse response.
But therapy might be something to look into.

I think she just doesn't see them anymore. Even though they sit there. Cleaning the kitchen generally falls to me, so I'm the one shifting them around. π€·ββοΈ
Part of me is curious how long it can go.
I do this thing where I put something in the attic that I'm not using. If it's still there by the time I clean out the attic (every Oct), & I still don't have a use for it, it goes.
Do you have a space where you can pack things away for, say, 6 months? If no one has asked abt it during that time, I'd call it free to donate.
Family heirlooms & what not probably shouldn't fall into that category. I'd be highly pissed if my hus dumped my late mom's things. (He almost did once. π‘)
@Kurtroedeger I'm going to be an outlier. Taking down the last this weekend.
Used to think I put them up in time for everyone to enjoy. If they wanted to put up I would gladly take down. One year I waited to see if anyone else would put up. Day before I could not stand it and gave inπ now I do it all. And take it down when I feel like it...most is down but last is today.

Get a bin. Put a DONATION sign on it. Put something in it so it's obvious it's got xmas stuff. If they still don't say or DO anything, pack it all up and actually donate it and free yourself.
