I have not had tofu, except Chinese restaurants sweet and sour soup, but this looks good and might be a good way to start.
@ellesu @Kurtroedeger A dependable way to give it more chew/texture is to freeze it in the original package, then defrost it, before draining and cutting into pieces and adding your tasty goodnesses. It holds together better, and creates little pockets where your seasonings go (after being drained of most of the water.)
TY! I will make a note of that.
@Kurtroedeger @ellesu Just be aware that with more little holes for the sauce/seasonings to go, you'll need to be generous with them. I tend to make extra or add more oil/tamari/juice/whatever liquids. And try to distribute it evenly otherwise half of the slices will be saturated before the other half have absorbed any.
@ellesu very yum. Extra firm tofu so you gotta chew it.
@Kurtroedeger
There is a Thai Sweet Chili Sauce. This looks grilled?
We used to cut the tofu into cubes dip them into the sauce, with cornstarch and tamari and bake them. I bet they'd be good air fried. There is also a Whole Food Recipe book. it might be in there?
