The 18 year olds who are starting college this fall were 11 years old when Charlottesville happened. They were 9 when Donald Trump announced his candidacy for president by calling Mexicans rapists.
They just do not understand the before times. They think Trump is a Normal part of #Politics
we all should demand better.
2016 was Cosmic Jr's first Presidential election vote. I cannot tell you how sad that continues to make me.
2016 was tough. I woke up the day after, went downstairs to get the morning paper... and honest to God- I thought someone was pranking me with a fake newspaper announcing trump won!
I don't think I'll ever recover from 2016. I cried all through Hillary's speech tonight!
I stayed up on the phone with my BFF (originally from Florida). When she said there weren't enough votes left in Florida, I was gut punched.

for me, i was mad. Mad that Trump happened. But I knew the pendulum would swing back from Authoritarianism and back to democracy
sadly 8 years later, and I am no longer sure that Pendulum will swing back. Too damn close to call. There are too many rich affluent people wanting American Democracy to fail, and the means to defeat them are small and ineffective.

Oh I was mad after that election, and my hatred for trump is forever.
I was doing everything I could to support Biden... but I was terrified because we just didn't have the awareness we needed to shut down trump.
As soon as Biden stepped down, and Kamala took over... after 2 days, I was energized.
It's close, but after the DNC and all the millions in really hard hitting political msgs they've got planned... I think we can save Democracy one more time...
A TRULY GRIM calibration. I mean, I know it's been a long time, because I'm fucking EXHAUSTED. But, it never occurred to put that perspective to it.
