Having worked for an airport, I find the unconfirmed rumor that he landed at Billings instead of Bozeman because the airport uses a different fuel provider weirdly credible.
It's like having an overdue Exxon bill, so you go to a Shell station instead.

Trump farce one was diverted to Billings but TFG wanted to land at Bozeman. 142 miles over some mountains. Only way he was getting to bozeman from Billings in a reasonable time was via Private plane. AFTER the Secret Service swept the area

The Rally location was probably funded by some donor. But because of the diversion became incredible expensive

The aircraft is now owned and operated by Threshold Aviation Group. The owner is a Friend of Trump it was listed for $16.9 million in Florida

So why did Trump go to Bozeman?
1. Probably the rally location was funded by a donor. So to the Trump Campaign it was a freebie
2. But Trump Farce one breakdown and diversion to Billings means having to pay unpaid bills and fix the plane $$$
3. Private plane from Billings to Bozeman, either charter or donor More $
4. Oh look THere is a big fundraiser in Jackson Hole WY today that Trump couldn't take his plane to. $$
