Just before she died, Joan Meyer, a newspaperwoman since 1953, said this about a police raid on her

The Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press and more than 30 news organizations, including The New York Times, Dow Jones and The Washington Post, have written to the chief of the Police Department to condemn its raid on the Marion County Record:

From KSHb41 news

KBI along with the county attorney issued a statement saying “insufficient evidence exists” to establish the alleged crime with County Records newspaper

will return all seized evidence promptly

on the day of the illegal searches that 'there is not a probable cause affidavit filed.'

While the affidavits purport to be signed before Magistrate Viar on the day of the illegal searches, no explanation has been provided why they were not filed prior to the execution of the illegal searches."

so the Police chief asked for a search warrant without filing an affidavit? and the Judge signed off on it?

THIS IS NOT LEGAL!

Police Chief e-mails to County lawyer titled "Crimes?" misstating something was a crime, that wasn't a crime to obtain warrant.

@Kinnison Some people are not at all familiar with the phrase "due process".

@Kinnison And it looks like the police chief and judge both had some dirty laundry that looks to have been suppressed by nefarious means.

@Kinnison Only suspended? I hope everyone involved rots in hell

@Kinnison
This raid has some insane back story, and it gets weirder with every revelation. That's a whack town.

@Kinnison As far as I am concerned, the only question that needs to be answered is when the police chief and the magistrate judge resign.
