There's a lot more in the guide, like how to set columns to avoid or attract certain subjects, etc. We have no algorithms delivering posts to your feed - you are totally in charge of deciding what you want to see yourself.

The sliders at the top of each column will hide unnecessary columns. Take your time, as it can seem a bit overwhelming at first.

At the core, CoSo is about interaction between real people, so you are off to a good start by introducing yourself!
The column layout may be new to you unless you used tweetdeck or mastodon before. Don't be overwhelmed by that, you can configure it even down to a single column if you prefer that mobile view.
The bottom line though is talk to the nice people :)
