It has been 30 years since the release of The Shawshank Redemption. In my house, I jokingly ask, "Who is ready to see The Shawshank Redemption? Today we did it! The film, based on a Stephen King Novella, still holds up. Now I want to coax then into seeing Midnight Express.

So many of the good movies based on books are based on short novellas and short stories and not trying to fit a full novel into the cinematic format.

IMHO

Shawshank is a good one.
