So I’m trying really hard to figure this one out:
Back in August, my kid (just turned 18) got her Montana state ID. Issued by the state of Montana.

Today I get a call saying there is an issue with the ID and the verifying documents stating she is a resident of Montana are not valid.

I took them a letter of care, homeschool paperwork filed with the state and a rental agreement that listed her as a minor.

WTF else could they possible need?

@StonedElf Sounds fishy to me. Why would they phone you? Did they ask you for info over the phone?

Alternatively, might it have something to do with your state's "Real ID" - the enhanced identification that will be required nationwide?

@Julie_in_FL they didn’t ask for anything over the phone, just that the paperwork was rejected, that her ID is still valid, but when she goes to renew it or get her driver’s license, there might be an issue. They asked that I take any piece of mail with her name on it by the office so they can update the file.
I recognized the name and the voice of the woman on the phone, as she was the one that did the ID back in August. And the phone number was the same. Idk. It’s just weird.

@StonedElf Maybe it's about enhanced id. When I had to provide documentation for my drivers license, it was like an intense background check. They wanted all sorts of validation. Glad that you feel like it's legit. πŸ’œ
