Neighbor,
Listening to ham radio:
9:30pm ET
I75 North, out of TampaBay, stop and go traffic. All the way to the state line. Average speed 4 MPH. Folks are running out of gas. Cars blocking emergency vehicles.
This is bad folks.
@corlin indeed.
This is one factor that is often overlooked when people ask “why didn’t you evacuate?”
Evacuating a city/region/state is….. challenging, at best.
Especially when you don’t really know how bad it will be, until you do.
Yes !
And that is if you’re lucky enough to have a car, and money for gas.
@JanetZumba_FalPals @corlin sure. But I had a friend in… was it Irma? In 16 or 17?
Anyway, I’m pretty sure she said it was a 20 hour evac driving.
I didn’t ask, but all of so. Florida was evaccing. And 20 hours is many tanks of gas.
How many of those gas stations still had gas, with the whole so fl leaving?
@Beanc @JanetZumba_FalPals @corlin
I've heard emergency management agencies placed gas at intervals along the highways for exactly this reason. Don't know how long it will last.
@AlphaCentauri @JanetZumba_FalPals @corlin that’s helpful
@Beanc @AlphaCentauri @JanetZumba_FalPals @corlin If I lived there I would move to another state, honestly, hurricanes are getting stronger , all the money they have to spend every time they evacuate.
@AlphaCentauri @Beanc @JanetZumba_FalPals @corlin I live in Southern California, we had an earthquake Sunday morning at 2:51 am , it was of 4.0 , since I live in this area I have an app for that , we are prepared for an emergency, we have the important documents in a backpack in case we have to go out running, we have considered almost everything but eventually we will have to move , one of my sons wants to move to Missouri or a place like that and he wants us to go with him ,if we can we will.
@AlphaCentauri @Beanc @JanetZumba_FalPals @corlin holy crap !! I didn’t know that !! We have to see , it was an option, another one of my sons lives in Colorado, we might try that but I don’t know for sure .
@Jorro @Beanc @JanetZumba_FalPals @corlin
lol, Missouri is long overdue for a Big One.
