@JenniferMcCown Think of me as the fellow drunk girl in the bar bathroom who's screaming "DON'T TEXT YOUR EX" from the neighboring stall, lol. Only the business owner edition. 😆
@danialexis Which feels VERY supportive! But also a touch confusing. (Is working "texting my ex"? Is...not working, doing that?)
I love a supportive bathroom stranger tho...
@danialexis May all the saints, angels, and little fey half-bird-half-elf people bless you. This is good advice.
@danialexis "Vacation is today's work."
I'm writing that down. I'm so sorry you had to learn it the hard way.
(What's funny is, I'd likely give this same kind of advice if a friend said these things to me. Does it occur to me to say it to me? Nooooo...)
@JenniferMcCown It is precisely that kind of drive that both makes us good at running a business and more likely to burn out. People who give themselves permission to rest have the opposite problem - they're less likely to burn out but also less likely to stay on top of the business.
It's a monkey's paw wish 😆
@danialexis (deep sigh)
Ah, such is life.
@JenniferMcCown Thanks. I literally had to be hospitalized four times for overwork to learn it. So now I happily pass it on for free.
If the calendar says "vacation," you are not "wasting time" or "doing nothing." You are doing vacation. That is today's work.
(Typing this to remind myself again, too.)
