I remember when Carter was president and when he was defeated by Reagan. I was in the Army and knew the behind-the-scenes of how Reagan got the Iranians to delay releasing the hostages until after the election so Carter wouldn't get the credit he deserved.
People derided Carter, said he was a terrible president.
But with both his presidency and his life after, he has shown himself to be a truly decent human being and an example of the best of humanity.

I remember his "motorcade" for his swearing in.

He, Rosalyn, and Amy walked that route. It must have been a nightmare for the Secret Service.

But it was also during the 70s gas crisis and he couldn't justify the wastefulness of using all those vehicles.

I've always believed he ultimately lost to Reagan because he had the audacity to tell Americans to put on a sweater and turn down the heat. ☹️

@Jeber
I've always thought Reagan was a traitor because of the way he did that. I've never liked that demented old B-actor & his band of wealthy brigands who started the rape and pillage of the middle class with their "Trickle-Up Poverty" & robbing the Social Security Trust Fund to give it to Wall Street crooks.
