Ok #CoSo... serious question... what can I do if I suspect Walmart sold me a vial of insulin where the cold-chain wasn't maintained, so the insulin is DOA? Like I could inject that stuff like water... and it has NO effect on my blood sugar levels. Change out the vial (brand/type) and inject the insulin, and lo-and-behold! my blood sugars start to come down. I'm... so tired. I feel exhausted because everyone (doctors, family etc.) blames ME for my high blood sugars, all the time. #DiabetesT1
@Dogofalltrees Contact the pharmacy and escalate nicely until they offer a replacement.

@Dogofalltrees I don't do insulin, so I have no idea, but everything that comes out of pharmacy has a label on it.
Either way, they can look you up and see that you filled it. Call them.
@kel Ah, are you referring to the prescription label that has your doctors name and stuff like that?
@Dogofalltrees Yep. Also has the pharmacy of origin and the date it was filled. By law.
@kel Ah, ok, so the insulin I buy doesn't have that. Ever. I buy it from Walmart, and it's non-prescription. I just have to go up to the pharmacy counter and ask for it.
@Dogofalltrees @kel #DiabetesT1 you must get the very basic insulin. So much of what is out there these days is in pen form with mixtures.
I take a twice daily injectable (not insulin) which is extremely expensive and available by prescription only. It's a pen with removable needles.
@Dogofalltrees @kel Yeah, insulin is crazy expensive. It shouldn't be that way. Its nuts because it's not that expensive to make. That said, your private insurance must suck when it comes to medication.
I'm very fortunate to have a platinum plan for meds as a part of my retirement medical from State of Alaska.
@J_Windrow @kel Yup. I get the cheapest insulin because that's all that I can afford. Even with private insurance, it's an arm and a leg for insulin.
