Ok #CoSo... serious question... what can I do if I suspect Walmart sold me a vial of insulin where the cold-chain wasn't maintained, so the insulin is DOA? Like I could inject that stuff like water... and it has NO effect on my blood sugar levels. Change out the vial (brand/type) and inject the insulin, and lo-and-behold! my blood sugars start to come down. I'm... so tired. I feel exhausted because everyone (doctors, family etc.) blames ME for my high blood sugars, all the time. #DiabetesT1
@Dogofalltrees Contact the pharmacy and escalate nicely until they offer a replacement.
@kel I no longer have the receipt tho. :(
@Dogofalltrees It's labelled, isn't it?
@kel ...sorry, I don't understand the question? What do you mean by "labelled"?
@kel @Dogofalltrees #DiabetesT1
Kel, a cold-chain is where a medication must be maintained in a cold environment (refrigerated) or they lose the ability to do what they need to do. Labels don''t matter.
When I get my meds shipped they come in 3 vials (3 months) in an insulated box with ice packs and are air freighted. I'm notified when they are to be delivered so I'm home to get them in the house and into the fridge. They can't freeze, either.
@J_Windrow Yeah, I'm familiar with cold chains. Recommending that the supplier (Walmart) be called if the medication doesn't seem to be working. @Dogofalltrees
