Apologies if someone has asked this before, but ...

If you are going for a US Security clearance, don't they review your credit and bank statements? Ask if you have been accused of any felonies? Wouldn't that prevent someone from say said clearance?

Assuming the above, how in the Actual FUCK can someone be considered for say an extremely high position with said clearance level access?

sadly when a poltiical party decides to not vet their presidential canidate for such things those requirements go out the window

the IC of the US refused to give Jared Kushner security clearance and only allowed it at the direction of his father in law

So much in our country was based on traditions and not actual laws. Which sucks when someone doesn't care about traditions.
