Installation was smooth until the damn wire nuts turn out to be too large. Off to pick up heat shrink butt connectors.

@MookyTroubadour the shields are not made to withstand heat at that level. Itโs merely for standard wire connections.
What you should do I. This case is thread the tubing on one of the wire legs, move it to the side. Make your solder joint. Once it cools slide the tubing over the exposed wire and use a lighter to adhere the shielding. Temp rating is only 175 F.

@JGNWYRK The ones I bought on Amazon were total crap. The shrink tube would burn before the solder ever considered melting. If you find a good option, please name drop the brand. Iโm back to separate solder and tubing. :(
