So sad. These deaths in Puerto Rico could have been avoided / minimized. And everyone saw it coming. American citizens, left to die

@RAO I have a friend whose dad, who has diabetes, went into the hospital right before hurricane after dropping something on his foot, breaking it. They had to send him home right before it hit. Foot got infected, so went back in after hurricane, had to have amputation. Friend was able to get him, mom, niece, niece’s husband, their kids flown to US for dad to recover in decent conditions (mom wouldn’t come without niece, family). Friend had the means to do this. A lot of folks didn’t / don’t
@J4BB3RW0CK I know of a case that of an elderly that days after hurricane was only able to get sporadic oxygen, instead of constant supply and finally heart gave up. She is not counted as "hurricane death" just natural death and therefore don't qualify for FEMA Funeral Assistance. https://www.fema.gov/media-library-data/1502371473320-20b7a510028dade41fba8541a9d808b6/FACTSHEETFuneralAssistance.pdf
