Good morning from O'ahu!
#Hawaii
I took this pic yesterday at Kailua Beach Park, one of my childhood beaches.
#sentimental_journey
@okika_hilo Lived on O’ahu for a few years as a kid (military kid, of course). Had “island fever,” but sure do miss it now that I’m older. Wife and I plan to visit for our 25th anniversary in a couple years 🙂
@okika_hilo We haven’t decided yet, but I’m thinking maybe Kau’i or Maui, though I never made it to the Big Island while there. We’ll see where we end up 🙂
@okika_hilo thanks for the tips!
@J4BB3RW0CK You're welcome!
@J4BB3RW0CK I love both islands. I have a soft spot for Maui, which I lived on twice and went to HS there. I learned to drive on Maui.
Just be aware that the whole south shore of Kihei is like a mini-Waikiki now. Ditto for Lahaina, which used to be a sleepy town a long time ago. On the plus side, you can drive further and see more things that you can on Kauai.
Kauai is still wonderful. I arrecommend the round the island helicopter ride. The Na Pali coast isn't accessible by car.
