Child #2 called to tell me his house was shot up in a drive by about an hour ago. He was at work. GF, child, and roommate are all ok.
That was a rude awakening.

We live out in the country. He lives in town.
Small town. Somewhere between 10,000 and 15,000 people surrounded by been and corn fields.
Safety is an allusion even out here. 😔
@Itsjustme We just can't escape it. I live in the middle of nowhere most of the year & we still have gun violence. I spend time in the city and still gun violence. The deaths, the injuries, the near-misses, it all adds to the feeling that we're never really safe. Gun violence devastates. I'm so sorry it came so closely into your orbit. It's hard to shake. Sending good karma to you & your circle.
