@Ironworker229 I am not a lawyer, so bare with me. The Constitution says that the Electoral College has to convene and vote, but does it say the law has to abide by it? After all, the states can jigger their voting system to change outcomes, so can the federal government have a law that says both EC and Popular vote have to match and if they don’t the popular vote is taken instead? Or if the popular vote is more than x number of votes it is taken instead?
@Iskios I also am not a lawyer. I do recall reading some interesting pieces regarding EC vote compacts between states, though. This approach may have the best potential for fixing the system. This one gives a good overview:
