Quick poll!

Who had civics in jr./high school?

And GO!

@InUnfunky

I had "social studies," and all I remember of that is having to memorize dates of Civil War battles, how many lives were lost, and Lincoln's Gettysburg Address.

@InUnfunky

Parochial school studied neither the Bible or the Constitution

@InUnfunky I have a civics class meeting in the library this entire week to do a mock Congress thing. They have to come up with ideas for a bill, get it through a committee, and get it passed. The teacher is the President, and he always pocket vetoes one just so they never forget how a pocket veto works. 😆

@InUnfunky I am the "Congressional Research Service" - I can't tell them whether the bill is good or how to get it passed, but I can give them any info they need (like "who is in charge of the sidewalks in front of the school?").

@InUnfunky I didn't have Civics as it's own class, but it was part of my History & Social Studies classes.

@InUnfunky

In high school, we couldn't graduate without a passing grade. As it should be, imo.

@InUnfunky
I did, but only because I was doing supplemental studies at home. We moved a lot back then, so my brother and I had a home study program for continuity. Thanks, Mom!
