Seems to be the case, yes (vis a vis Apple News and products).
As for that whole "internet archives" thing, I am apparently able to use it to find various Grateful Dead shows and that's about it.

It saves a text and a graphical copy of the page for better accuracy
and provides a short and reliable link to an unalterable record of any web page 1/X

Enter URL into "I want to search the archive for saved snapshots". If it is archived then it will show you snapshot of webpage. If not, then you enter URL into "My url is alive and I want to archive its content" for web page to be archived 2/X
