You know, the band Journey was REALLY good before that nasally pop Steve Perry guy showed up. The album βNextβ from 1977 is more of a prog rock/fusion kind of vibe and makes me wish theyβd kept on that track.

I happen to like him...
In Perry's defense...he admits he ripped off Sam Cooke. π π
But my universe, I could go the rest of my life never hearing "Oh Sherrie" and I would be π
"Foolish Heart," tho? Guilty pleasure BULLSEYE! π

Will check it out; it's been years that "I had to listen to the whole album," ahem. π
"Foolish Heart" will pop up every once in a while on the various soft/yacht rock rando mixes coworkers and I torture ourselves with. π

Sorry; Journey or Perry solo? π€

Journey, never was a big fan of his solo work

Trey, it's from "Departure" and I just listened to it because it's been a couple decades and I stand by original assessment. It's a really good song

Gotcha. Saw it on my Journey brush-up.
Thx, Sarah! β€οΈπ
Related β a chef I used to work for (he was/is still very much a musical snob, surprise π) asked me if I would βsell outβ and fill in for Schon (cuz I know all their tunes) if mgmt called me. (Kitchen convos are ALL OVER THE PLACE, you may know) βHell YESβ I said. This was before the Cain Trumpiness.
The songs we know, amirite? π€π

I can't even remember the album but it's a really good song. One of their best in my opinion
