@InUnfunky AL Team: Orioles (used to live a couple blocks from old Memorial Stadium during the Ripken bros years)
NL Team: Atlanta Braves (fandom passed down from every grandmother, step-grandmother, honorary grandmother in my life).
I despise the DH, hate the pitching clock, and refused to watch MLB for 25 years after the 1994 players strike. I’m back …
Oh shit
Hardcore...
My cards on the table --
FL boy. Played Little League in '77, '78. Liked the Reds cuz Morgan, Rose, Bench. No way in Hell I was gonna like the Braves (no offense) cuz my granddad, my step-grandad, my stepdad were all ATL fans. 😆 As a Spring Training kid I was brought up being fickle -- in the Tpa area I could see how many teams? and did.
No, I am not a (Devil) Rays fan and would never be a Fish fan.
Moving to the NE was advantageous in many ways. LOL
@InUnfunky PS — I loved Johnny Bench and Pete Rose!
Also watched the Braves when Hubbard, Horner, Oberkfell, Griffey SR! and poor ol’ Dale Murphy could score 14 runs and still lose! LOL! They were woeful!
You are killing me.
What did you do with all of your time when you were NOT watching baseball?
Cuz during season IT'S ALL I WATCH.
I do not watch movies on TV.
I do not watch sitcoms.
I do not watch endless reruns of SVU or CI. 😆
During Trump I DID watch syndicated Modern Family, The Office (US), and The Nanny. No, really.
Anything to get my mind off of the abomination...
I cannot imagine NOT watching baseball for that length of time. But wow, kudos for real. 👍
@InUnfunky In 1991, I was on bedrest during a difficult pregnancy; the ALCS/NLCS & TwinkiesBraves World Series gave my husband & me our best distraction from our worries that Fall. So, in ‘94, I thought “What about people in our 1991 boat this year who need a distraction? What about [those aforementioned grandmothers] whose joy is watching the Braves?” I did watch non-MLB baseball, am a huge football/other sports fan.Still, probably the longest grudge I’ve ever held -really couldn’t get over it.
@InUnfunky Ban me from Target Field (or Ft. Myers); just don’t ban me from Target (where I spend an $85 minimum even when I just go in for a birthday card).
