Past as SO TIRESOME and TEDIOUS prologue…especially for those of us boomers and Gen Xers reading the papers AND gossip rags (and yes New Yorkers and Jerseyites, you’re all special cuz vicinity, we know 🤣) back in the ‘80s and ‘90s who knew a certain scumbag from Queens was in fact a scumbag. Such a shocking revelation.
😱🙄🤬😂😂

But hey — per RS via WaPo from ‘16 (cuz the “Truth Social”/SPAC bullshit) let’s take a walk down memory lane. And remember that more than a few R voters are fully aware of Trump’s cheating and chiseling and scamming but “that’s what ya gotta do.”

Continued, one more.

Tired nostalgia-as-refresher cuz what’s obvious yet different, then and now?

He hadn’t yet been president, with all of the advantages the position holds…and/or held/might hold again for him.

You know, like not being able to prosecute a sitting president and our tax dollars — to say nothing of emoluments — flowing into his “businesses.” Again.

@InUnfunky

Are you somehow implying that trump has been a lying POS grifter his entire life??? 😀

@gemswinc @tgraph52

Heh, Trey Anastasio and crew are talking to their lawyers about that NPR piece as we speak. 😜

@InUnfunky @gemswinc

As much as I can't stand Phish, being a band based in the dark arts of mathemetics, I hope they sue the fuck out of NPR.

It's just lazy BS being presented as journalism.

Maybe (being the milquetoast Vermonters that they are) they'll just have the lawyers send a cease and desist letter. 😉

Speaking of --

All Deadheads (and "Touchheads" like yours truly) who can't stand Phish, stand up and be counted! 😆

@tgraph52

Touchhead: (N) A person -- usually Gen X -- who only "discovered" the Grateful Dead once "In The Dark" was released and "Touch Of Grey" hit MTV and AOR. A perjorative coined by some old school Deadheads.

I am a Touchhead! In my defense, I had no older siblings and none of the parents (step or no) were Dead fans. Similarly, I only got into Zappa's music when the video for "You Are What You Is" was featured during a "Beavis And Butthead" episode, circa '93.

Funny cuz true.

😆

@InUnfunky

As much as I loved SF music in the 60s I didn't pay attention to the Dead until college. They were coming to Mpls in 1971 for a concert and someone said we should go. I said play me something and the LP at the time was Workingman's Dead... WTF... That's country??!!??

The concert was life changing for me and I was learning the bass a month later. I quit following them much in about 1980.

Now it's 70 yr olds playing 50 yr old songs for 30 yr olds... They should just let that shit go
