Just popped in Jeremy Soule's soundtrack for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. I haven't played it in an ice age & it's dredging up sooooo many memories. Not just gameplay, but also things like where my headspace was at the time & what my life was like.

Having this weird feeling/experience where the music seems like I've never heard any of it before, but I know all of it, it's all as familiar as a lullaby someone sang you when you were a little kid.

& I feel like there's this gut-level *sensing* at the back of my throat as the music plays, & it'd remind me of whatever it was I was doing at the time I used to play, if only the note could hang long enough or move slowly enough...

It's funny how much of the work sounds like scifi & fantasy TV series music from the mid-90s.

I swear to bog I heard some riffs in there that were straight from ST:TNG.

Annnnnnd the track changed, & now I'm being attacked by bandits. So I got that going for me.
