Reading of another instance of orcas being aggressive towards humans (this time a boat race in Spain), & I don't think it's that puzzling - I think they're just tired of our shit.

@Impious_Jade I saw a video once from a boat where the people were laughing about the orcas’ behavior and all I could think is “They’re not playing, chica! Y’all are being hunted.”

@NoMansWoman Holy yikes, no kidding. I live near Seattle & we grew up with orca in the Sound, with a healthy respect for them. It's mind-boggling that so many folks don't realize that they're apex predators, & while there haven't been any human deaths from orca activity in the wild that I know of, they are NOT an animal to mess with.

@NoMansWoman I mean they're basically several tons of highly intelligent predatory muscle that swims at up to 35 mph and has TEETH. No way anyone in their right mind'd mess with that.

@Impious_Jade Yes - the 1972 book (nonfiction) Survive the Savage Sea by Dougal Robertson comes to mind.
Orca sank their 43’ boat in less than a minute.
