I ordered blinds & bookshelves from Ikea. Got 'em just fine, but turns out Ikea has made some design decisions, probably cost-driven.

The cam-lock nuts are now plastic instead of metal. They broke, so we can't put the shelves together until we get replacements.

I ordered metal replacements, due tomorrow, at least.

& the blinds look great, got the mounting hardware with 'em, but no screws. So we can't hang the blinds.

We have blankets tacked up over the windows. Looks SO janky.

Meanwhile, there's a massive glut of book boxes clogging up the living room, for books that have no home yet.

Moving into a place is a bit like those songs about how Johnny is trying to build a house but he needs X tool first, then needs Y object to get X tool, then Z tool to make Y object, etc. etc. etc...

Anybody remember the song, "There's a Hole in the Bucket"?

Yeah. It's like that.

Also, does anybody else see that song as a classic example of weaponized incompetence on Henry's part?

I swear, Liza's chillin' in the sun in her comfy rocking chair, & Henry comes around bothering her endlessly about how to fix a FUCKING BUCKET.

Liza is about to lose her shit in the vid linked above, no joke.

@Impious_Jade And then, for some crazy reason, she swallowed a fly.

I don't know why, she swallowed a fly.

I guess she'll die.
