One reason I'm slowly leaving the Bird site is that it's a terrible site as far as mental health goes: full of amplified voices of the worst, most abusive, toxic bigots out there... & there's a lot of awfulness in the world right now.
I expect the worst, & feel helpless that I can't stop it, & have no idea what to do when full-blown authoritarianism gets here.
So sometimes I find little sparks of goodness, to get through a dark time.
Today's tiny good thing: my work group is actively & openly having a discussion about tackling institutional racism.
@Impious_Jade Yes! This was actually something that came up a couple of weeks ago in discussing anxiety with my doctor. I was able to immediately feel a difference over here.

@Impious_Jade ... well I found you. 🙂 Back in the day we actually achieved some good things back on the bird site. My partner organised vigils and protests in real time with it. But yeah, it's slowly drowning in muck... And musk. Let's hope this place does okay... 🙂

@Impious_Jade And that's a perfectly valid reason for leaving it.
I'm in the US & am watching it slide into authoritarianism, bit by bit, with the GOP slowly taking over & being very successful at it. I am not optimistic by nature, & so it's hard to watch: I expect the worst, always.
