@CJLavoie It's still an interesting observation, that "that" serves as a relative pronoun for anything (more or less, depending on dialect) while "who" always requires some perceived personhood.
@ImagineThat I appreciate your observation. Reminds me of when I read a nonfiction book about trees and they consistently referred to them as "who". I liked that, but it surprised me and make me stop and think.
