I wonder what calibre of 'sniper' rifle ammo would nick and ear and not just remove way more?

Any shooters have any ideas?

@Unauthorizedbeast I'm thinking 5.56. Also not sure what the distance was, but for that a point target at 500 to 600 yards is doable with someone that has been trained.

@Idrake Thanks - I read somewhere else that the shooter had an AR-15. That can't be right, can it? Aren't they really innacurate at range?

@Unauthorizedbeast Depends on the condition, rifle, the ammo used, the and shooter's skill. you put an M4 in the hands of a Marine that is trained to shoot it, they can hit point (vs area targets) at between 500 to 800 yards out.
