@Idrake Maybe they wanted someone to see video footage of US and allied forces bombing the crap out of something.
Or perhaps they thought they could help interdict an area, create pressure on trade, push the envelope on what territories are controlled by who, while the world's attention is on crises elsewhere.
I suppose they could have just been all "Durr, I bet they won't shoot us with their giant expensive artillery," too. They might have expected the US to blink?
@CoyoteConscious I think they are latching onto any excuses to commit violent acts. They are attacking ships belonging to counties that have nothing to do with Israel.
They behave like a toddler throwing a tantrum, lashing out. It is okay. We'll put them in time out
