HELP
Need a crowd opinion. My German Shepherd's (only remaining eye) looks like he may have an issue, around the eye there a lack of fur that seems maybe abnormal. Is it just me?
@Idrake it also looks a bit damp around the eye. could he have gotten grass seed or something in his eye that is causing irritation? have you seen him rubbing his eye with a paw? how old is he?
@redenigma no rubbing.. earlier this ball he had some allergies and was medicated for that to help. This isn't like a brand new problem just noticed today, been like this for a minute. He is 1 1/2 years
@Idrake it could be the allergies still, or different allergies... my Malamute had 27 environmental allergies, including both human hair & dander allergies & 8 food allergies. he lived on antihistamines for years...
@XSGeek thar is why I am super sensitive about it.. they scrapped his other headlight!
I just worry... I want the best for him
@Idrake looks ok to me. The fur around Kai’s eyes looks the same
@h2oaddicted yeah.. okay.. I think it just me being overly concerned about it being his only eye. There is no backup of this one fails :(

@h2oaddicted I called the vet, sent a pic, asked them to let me know if I need to bring him in. Thanks for the opinion :)
@Idrake fur is very sparse around Jackson and Mia’s eyes too but you can’t really tell because their skin is darker

not sure if normal or not. But why not get a vet yo take a look? Might catch a problem, or reassure you. Either is a big plus imo
@dz I did.. called the vet and sent the same pic. Waiting on a call back if he needs to be seen. We will see.

No idea if it will help while waiting for the vet...but I slap coconut oil on our pups eyes and fur when ever something odd comes up fixes 90% of the issues soothes if nothing else anti bacterial and anti fungal.
Vet called back, says it is abnormal but nothing alarming. We know he had fall allergies with itchy paws and he had medication that helped and after it ran out he seemed okay. He is going back on the meds for a month again to see if that helps.
