Mother's day growing up for me was always a big deal because mom pulled double duty for my entire childhood.

I've seen how depressingly uncommon it seems to have a parent who loves you unconditionally. So each year that goes by, I realize just a little more how lucky i am, even though I didn't seem like I when I was younger and wanting for a father figure.
