(If you don't know the rancher, or grower, chances are they are ripping you off.)

It has become common in this century for premium food marketing executives to sign off on ridiculous claims like they are “raised without antibiotics” while, like "grass-fed" and "free-range", shielding themselves because legally it is a simple marketing designation, as with "certified organic" food. It has no meaningful difference at all.

Note:

My local butcher shop, that specializes in locally raised beef and pork, uses NONE of these labels, because they mean nothing. But each farmer, or rancher, that sells to him, invites folks to visit and see for themselves.
He also visits each ranch, and can talk about what he has seen.

All of his meat has never seen the inside of a train car. Never been on a "feed lot".

@corlin Sorry to announce the demise of all butchers' shops as future meat will come from labs without killing the animal!

OK. I admit it is still 25 years away but it is aleady being done in Holland for ex, where the same cows provide meat without suffering more than a simple needle insertion!

I am sure you would not be able to kill the animal yourself if you had no butcher's shop!

Meanwhile enjoy your steaks!!😂

@Helveticus

I have field dressed many a deer, elk, and moose.
I have slaughtered and field dressed cows.

I welcome lab grown meat.
As long as the quality and taste are matched.

@corlin You are the exception, and congratulations. you are ready for off-grid living and survival!😀 unlike most of us!

From what I read, the meat is the same as it comes from beef cells!
