Up before 0500. What the hell with my brain? Guess I'll fire up the next episode of Dr Who and get an hour in on the exercise bike. Then I have a long list of #newmusicfriday releases to check out. Late middle age sleep patterns are a serious clusterfuck.
@MPCavalier ooh! Where are you in the episodes?
@MPCavalier Mummy was really good. I liked 12 and more so on reviewing. I'm struggling through 13 now. (I think Chibnall should be fired into the sun)
@MPCavalier Jodie really got shafted. It's a shame. I think Ncuti is doing a great job as 15

Yeah I liked him immediately. Maybe TMI here, but at the time I watched those two eps I was in a really bad place emotionally and, I don't know, he just made me feel better?? I mean, he IS a doctor! But the joy he brought to it was a much needed distraction. I might have to race thru the rest of the back catalog to get to his season.
@MPCavalier He does bring a certain level of joy and caring to the role. Sure, it's written that way, but you can see it in him as a person. It was definitely refreshing. Don't blast through Capaldi though. The darkness is wonderful in it's own way. The anger, regrets give way to signs of healing and love. I think it's good for the character to live with his pain for a while instead of just taking off and drowning the sadness in a cocktail of adventure.
@Graci
I will continue to pace myself! You know, I thought I was getting to the point in my life where I had run out of obsessions, but I may already need another "Don't Blink" tshirt...
@Graci
I do very much miss Strax, though. I am sure I am not the first to say he would have made an excellent, and hilarious, companion.
@MPCavalier i absolutely LOVE the Paternoster Gang, Vastra being my favorite
@Graci
They are a spin-off waiting to happen. Jenny's "this one's on me" ass-kicking moment in "The Crimson Horror" was chef's kiss.
@Graci
From what I've been told - the writing for the 13th doctor left much to be desired. I actually watched the 60th anny specials and the first 2 eps of the 15th doc and thought "wow this is really really amazing" - so I stopped, did my usual research, and went back to the re-boot. Trying very hard to pace myself (no more than 2 eps a day and a few days break sometimes). But already looking forward to starting again.
