I just saw David Jolly on MSNBC. I have no problem with some never-Trumpers but most are like Jolly: they are there to argue that the problem is just Trump and the GOP was just fine before 2016. Sorry. The rot goes back more than 60 years. I don't know what MSNBC is going to do if Trump dies. Turn into CNN?
@FranklyCurious The thing that I understand the least is how quickly they went from foaming at the mouth anytime Ruzzia was even mentioned to being card-carrying members of Putin's fellatio squad.
They used to care about national security at least a little, if only to preserve the status quo so profits weren't affected.
@aspecurian Ha! That's true. I think what 2016 was really all about was the party learning that the base was just there for the hate. The economics? The foreign policy? It didn't matter at all.
@FranklyCurious A lot of it was anger about a Black man in a White House.
Took the usual day-to-day casual racism and turned it into a more virulent and contagious strain.
@aspecurian Sadly, I think you're right. That's all it was...
@FranklyCurious The world is going to have to deal with the consequences of white fragility.
@FranklyCurious yeah as much as I enjoy Nicole Wallace, she believes Buch/Cheney were a okay??? I know they are war mongers/criminals so to hear her pretend and act holier-than-thou...enough.
@JPSCHWEIZER63 She comes across so reasonable!🤷
@FranklyCurious It can be argued that they had a few decent ideas once in a decade or so.
And they have gotten much, MUCH worse lately.
But you are absolutely correct- the American right hasn't changed, they've just gone from cryptofascist to Fasc Classic.
And the plan has been in place to do so for a long, long time.
