@Florence If his synaptic function was greater, we still wouldn't know who he is and he'd still be printing money.
@MidnightRider True!
@Florence You can't be in business and take a political side. Or be an idiot. The guy I replaced at U of M: "look at the breast shadows on that chest x-ray Doctor, now that's excellent soft tissue contrast". Yeah, that's my daughter. I loved replacing him because it was all blue sky after an idiot like that.
@MidnightRider I'm also a doctor so I totally identify with this!
@MidnightRider Somehow, I missed this toot. This is a glorious story. I'm so glad you shared it. Perfect for this time of year too. Well done, that's an amazing achievement and has undoubtedly saved many lives. ❤️
@MidnightRider I don't believe that for a second. But it made me laugh! 😂
@Florence No really, I was picking up trash and stamping road maps on random Saturdays by age 8. The mechanical gifts I received from my dad made me crave the bleeding edge of what we could achieve with what was then emerging new technology. I did almost all the company secret projects, I loved doing that too.
@Florence Additionally I think it's good to laugh at ourselves, my father set that bar.
@MidnightRider Totally agree. I always start with the premise that life is a series of absurd events and go from there! A philosophy I stole from Camus! 😀
@Florence @MidnightRider What a lovely and amazing exchange. Thank you both.
Also, Good Saturday Morning!🌻☕️🌻☕️
@ACG2 Thank you. It's always so positive when you learn things as a result of your toot, I've loved this thread too. xx
@MidnightRider @ACG2 Sometimes I wonder if we just look in the wrong places!
@Florence @ACG2 My exposure to the public is limited now. Grocery, gas dentist, that's not going to "get er' done". 😎 But two weeks ago I was slipped a number at of all places IHOP but the woman was praying at my table. "Please Jesus reduce my stress so I can deliver these pancakes". Or something like that, she was attractive but I noped out. I'm like Spock, that interaction will not take place again for another five years.
@MidnightRider @ACG2 That's not something I would pursue either! But, it's all so random, for another customer that might have just been the connection they needed. That's why I think life is so random and so full of 'what if I hadn't done x, y, or z?' You just have to hope that those random connections (which often turn out to be the best ones) collide with you at the right time!
In your and my case, we could argue that the randomness worked! ❤️
@MidnightRider @ACG2 Life is full of 'paths less travelled!' Usually, that's my path, but every now & then, more sensible paths turn out to be right!
Difficult thing is we set challenges for ourselves far more than others set them for us.
I dislike it when folk say someone 'lost their fight' with cancer. It's not a fight, it's a disease, & some cancers kill you however hard you 'fight'. It pushes sufferer to feel responsible for their illness using such words.
We are our own worst enemies!
@MidnightRider @ACG2 I kept editing to make it fit! 😂
@Florence @MidnightRider @ACG2 I agree on the fight argument and the point needs to continue to be made.
@SECRET_ASIAN_MAN @MidnightRider @ACG2 It's semantics in a way, but it really IS important.
@Florence @MidnightRider Exactly! The imaginary ( or unknown ) timelines created by thought can collide and intertwine in unexpected and unknowable ways.
@ACG2 @MidnightRider Absolutely!
@MidnightRider @ACG2 That's it exactly. Serendipity is alive and well! As is chaos!
@Florence Thanks. Not too shabby for a guy who began as Navin R Johnson
