It's just an issue I've followed for 40 odd years and I get so frustrated when American folk talk about how awful child marriage is in other countries (which is certainly is) but refuse to acknowlege we've ALWAYS had this problem in certain states.

In 1880, 37 states set the age of consent at 10 years, 10 states set an age of consent at 12 years, and Delaware had an age of consent of 7 years. What the fuck, Delaware? In 1871 they LOWERED it from 10.
