Two monks and a novice are going into the forest to meditate. Along the way they come to a stream. The two older monks glide across it, novice monk is stuck. One older monks says to him 'just believe, and you will be fine, just focus'. Novice focussed himself and stepped into the water. He sank and was soaking wet. He had to go back to the monastry to change.
Older monk said to his friend 'it was a bit mean really, we should have told him where the stones were'.
@Florence good one! I heard what was surely a much older version back in the 80s with Jesus as the "older monks".
@hallmarc Mine is a joke from the 1960's so we could have an argument now on which is the oldest! (Joke!)
@Florence Buddhism is older than Jesus so maybe he was the novice! 😜
