I heard Lawrence on Dean Obidalah in the last 24 hours. He's definitely someone to be listened to. Probably what he's saying here, though I did not watch this, is that he is confident that there are still many roadblocks available, and that things can't simply be done with the wave of the royal hand. He is in no way looking through rose-colored glasses but merely making the case that we are not defenseless going forward.
@FireMonkey yes. he mentions America has the advantage of having those checks and balances in place as chump comes into power (again). He notes the times when a fascist autocracy is most vulnerable is when it is first coming into power (tRump now) and as it collapses at the end of its term.
