Imho, the republican party should be shuttered. The democrats should then be considered the right side party, and a new second even more left leaning party should be introduced.
@jordicusmaximus I've been saying that for years. But kill off the DNC as well, and let's run without (formal, dominant) parties. Only possible with RCV - Ranked Choice Voting - at all levels.
